Krishna Janmashtami
September 4 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 pm
Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna and is observed with devotion in temples and homes. Devotees traditionally observe fasting, perform special prayers and decorate Krishna idols with flowers, lights and traditional ornaments.
In Kalaburagi, temples and devotees can mark the occasion through bhajans, devotional programmes, Krishna-themed decorations and special poojas. The atmosphere becomes particularly festive during the evening and night as devotees gather for the midnight birth celebration.
The festival is also popular among children and families, with activities connected with Krishna’s childhood stories and devotional traditions. The 2026 calendar places Krishna Janmashtami on Friday, 4 September 2026.
