Vijayadashami, popularly known as Dussehra or Dasara, marks the victory of good over evil. The festival is associated with the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and the triumph of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura.
In Kalaburagi, the festival can be observed through temple programmes, special poojas, cultural activities and community celebrations. Families traditionally visit temples, exchange greetings and participate in religious activities during this important festival.
For 2026, Vijayadashami falls on Tuesday, 20 October. The Vijay Muhurat is around the afternoon period, although the exact timings for individual temples and local programmes can differ.
