Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the major festivals celebrated across Karnataka. The festival honours Lord Ganesha and is associated with wisdom, prosperity and auspicious beginnings. Public celebrations generally feature beautifully decorated Ganesha idols, pandals, devotional programmes and community gatherings.

In Kalaburagi, the festival can bring together families, youth groups and local communities for prayers and cultural activities. Homes and public spaces may be decorated with flowers, lights and traditional designs, creating a colourful festive environment across the city.

The celebrations traditionally continue for several days, culminating in Ganesh Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi. For 2026, Ganesh Chaturthi falls on 14 September, with the Ganesh immersion day falling on 25 September.
